Handcrafted Sculptural Entryway Stand
This coat rack is a unique piece where two traditional crafts meet – woodworking and metal forging. The design combines the strength and warmth of natural oak with the expressive character of hand-forged steel, creating a functional object that also works as a sculptural centerpiece for an interior.
The vertical structure is made from a carefully selected oak branch, preserving its natural curves and organic texture. Near the base, a small patch of natural moss has been intentionally preserved, symbolizing the tree’s life in nature and highlighting the authentic origin of the wood.
The base is made from a thick, beautiful solid oak slab, providing excellent stability. A natural crack in the wood has been both reinforced and celebrated with hand-forged metal clamps. These forged elements serve a structural purpose while adding a strong visual contrast between wood and metal.
At the top of the rack there are eight hand-forged steel hooks, individually shaped and arranged to hold coats, hats, or scarves. In the middle section, two additional forged hooks are positioned lower, making them perfect for bags, backpacks, or accessories.
The oak has been treated with natural linseed oil, enhancing the deep grain of the wood while protecting it and maintaining its natural feel. The forged metal elements have been sealed with a protective lacquer, preserving their texture and preventing corrosion.
Every detail of this piece reflects traditional craftsmanship, patience, and respect for natural materials. No two pieces can ever be identical, making this coat rack a true one-of-a-kind functional sculpture.
